Manila Lions Club has a new, metal sign on Highway 18. The Manila Lions Club is one of the oldest clubs in the state and has worked for the betterment of the community and its citizens for many years.

The wooden sign that was at the same location had became need of repair several years ago and Lion Wendell Poteet rebuilt it, but after a few years it was in need of repair once again.

The Lions used the same design in metal using vinyl lettering which should last a long time.

The sign was done by Mustang Graffix in Leachville.

Several members of the club helped with the sign and it is a nice addition to the city. The wording "Welcome to Manila, progressive, friendly, growing, a good place to live," features the Lions logo.

The Manila Lions Club meets every Wednesday at noon on the school campus.

The Lions annual pancake supper is plannned for Dec. 5.
