Mary Lou Williams, 77, of Manila passed from this life Oct. 13, 2015, at her home. Born near Manila, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dora Katherine Stokes Deason and had been a lifelong area resident. A 1956 graduate of Manila High School, Mary Lou had worked as a seamstress for Ely Walker Shirt Factory and Mid-South Footwear, both formerly of Manila, and later worked several years as a dispatcher for the Manila Police Department. Mary Lou was a member of the Blackwater Baptist Church near Manila.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Keith Scott; two brothers, Bennie Deason and Eulis Deason, and one sister, Betty Brown.

Survivors include one son, Chad Scott of Manila; two daughters, Tammy Scott and her companion John Thacker and Dianna Parks and husband Darrin, all of Manila; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 21, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Reverend Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial in Manila Cemetery will be private.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
