Gerald Stanley Gadberry

Gerald Stanley Gadberry, 66, of Monette, died Thursday Sept. 24, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Monette, he was the son of the late Hope and Opal McFarlin Gadberry and had been a lifelong area resident.

A 1967 graduate of Monette High School, he served in the Arkansas National Guard and was a longtime area farmer and cotton ginner having worked many years for Kiech-Shauver Gin Company in Monette. He was an avid fisherman and duck hunter and was of the Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Gene Gadberry and Billy Gadberry.

He is survived by two sisters, Ellen Gibbons of Cardwell, Mo., and Mary Graham of Ruston, La.

Graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, in the Monette Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville.

The family prefers any memorials be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital in Memphis or the Children's Home in Paragould.
