LA Garage opens in Leachville
The LA Garage, located at 319 Main Street, Leachville, was welcomed with an open house and ribbon cutting last Tuesday. Owners are Chris and Alesha Morgan.
Leachville Mayor Ralph Wells said he is excited to have the new business.
"As mayor, I want to say we are very proud to have Chris open LA Garage in Leachville," Mayor Wells said. "We definitely needed it. We did not even have a place to have a flat fixed. We ask everyone to support the business and help make this a success. Also, I want to thank everyone for attending the open house and joining us in welcoming our newest business."
The LA Garage will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. There will be two mechanics on duty to work with Morgan and his sons.
All types of tires, balance, oil changes, flats fixed, detail cleaning, transmission work and engine work will be offered, as well as all mechanic work.
"Our tire truck runs every day and we can have orders here the next day," Morgan said. "We will also pick up vehicles for the elderly who live in Leachville.
Free vacuuming comes with all oil changes.
The owner of the building has plans to install an additional two bays with lifts which will give three bays to work out of.
Alesha teaches special education in Manila. They have eight children and one grandchild. Their children are Whitlee, 23, and her husband Chad Adams, and two month old grandchild, Chip; Taylor 22; Will 18; Brock 13; Keegan 7; Tripp 5; Kirbee 3, and Kash 2. Whitlee teaches special education at Westside and Chad works for Burlington Pacific Railroad in Memphis.
The family also owns Morgan and Sons Contracting and have an excavation business. They tear down buildings, dig ditches, install underground water lines and install natural gas lines. They also have a trucking business hauling slag and dirt.
"I am glad to open here," Chris said. "This is something the community needs. My sons and I are always working on something at home. We enjoying working together."
Refreshments were served to the large crowd joining the Morgans for the open house.
