Riverside FFA/Band member to perform at National FFA Convention
Olivia Gracie Wilson, Riverside FFA Chapter and band member, will be on stage and in the spotlight Oct. 28-31 during the 2015 National FFA Convention & Expo in Louisville, Ky.
Wilson, a junior at Riverside and daughter of Eddie Wilson and Trina AuBuchon, has been selected to play clarinet in the National FFA Band.
She submitted an audition tape and was selected to help bring full instrumental balance to the band from a pool of applicants from across the country.
The National FFA Band will perform several times during the national convention and expos.
Wilson will join fellow band members in Louisville three days before the event for rehearsals.
The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 610,240 student members in grades seven through 12 who belong to one of 7,665 local FFA Chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Wilson has been in the Riverside Band for five years.
She is looking forward to being part of the National FFA Band.
Wilson is the second Riverside FFA/Band student to be selected for the honors. Riverside's Daniel Willis performed with the National FFA Band in 2013.
