Alvin DeWayne Edwards

Alvin DeWayne Edwards, 90, of Manila, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Illinois, he was the son of the late Homer and Pearl Windham Edwards. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and also served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Mr. Edwards was a retired roofer and had been a Manila resident for the past 15 years.

Survivors include his brother, Roland Edwards of Rockford, Ill.

Graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. July 14, at the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. The family received visitors from 9-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.
