Beatrice M. Fletcher

Beatrice M. Fletcher, 93, of Caraway passed away Tuesday June 23, 2015, at Lakeside Nursing Home. She was born to the late Henry Thomas and Clara Brandon Varner Aug. 13, 1921, in Black Oak. She was a homemaker and will be remembered for her love of gardening and working with flowers in her yard as well as being an excellent cook, seamstress and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Fletcher; son, Jimmy Fletcher and wife Mary; grandchildren, Don Fletcher, Alison McFarlin, Anthony Fletcher, Rhonda Crews and Samantha Spencer; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, all of Caraway, as well as one brother, H.T. Varner and wife Adrian of Liverpool, N.Y.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Fletcher; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, in the chapel of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Bro. Jeff Heitman officiating. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Don Fletcher, Steve McFarlin, Gary Fletcher, Wayne Roach, J.L. Shortnacy and William Tyler. Honorary pallbearers were Tobe Brewer, Rudy Anderson and Bill Hawkins.
