Thelma Joy McCollum

Thelma Joy McCollum of Marked Tree passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Three Rivers Nursing Center in Marked Tree. She was born at Tyronza Sept. 21, 1934, to the late Lonnie and Bertha Robinson Lane. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Lansing Professional Business Women's Club. During her years of employment she was manager of Red Roof Inn and a number of retail shops and Pine Terrace apartments.

Mrs. McCollum enjoyed reading, cooking and quilting. She loved Christmas spent with families and friends, and making cookies with her daughters and grandchildren.

Mrs. McCollum is survived by one son, Richard A. Bivens of Alabama; five daughters, Judith (Roger) Prather of Oklahoma, Jeri (Richard) Baker of Morris, Ill., Sheliza Drazie of La Port, Texas, Allison Gail Margosian of Lansing, Mich., Gewen McCollum of Lansing, Mich.; two sisters, Juanita White and Reba Scott, one sister-in-law, Elise Lane, all of Marked Tree; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Donna Joyce Lippert; a granddaughter, Brinna Joyce Bivens; a sister, Carolyn McDaniel; three brothers, Refus Lane, Rudolph Lane and Carroll Lane; a son-in-law, Mike Margosian.

Faith Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.
