Colby Qualls, son of Jeff and Stacey Qualls of Monette, recently graduated summa cum laude at the University of Central Arkansas, and was honored as UCA's Outstanding Student in the College of Liberal Arts with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

UCA's College of Liberal Arts includes the disciplines of English, History, Philosophy and Religion, Political Science, Sociology and Foreign Languages.

Qualls, who was also one of only five UCA graduates to receive the prestigious UCA President's Medallion Award, received bachelor's degrees in both political science and sociology. He was selected as UCA's Student Government Association Senator of the Year for three years, Outstanding SGA Senior and Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges recipient. He served as president of his UCA class for three consecutive years and was a President's Leadership Fellow.

While a UCA student, Qualls interned at the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., for three months and for the District Office of U.S. Congressman Rick Crawford.

Qualls will be attending the William Bowen School of Law in Little Rock this fall to obtain his juris doctorate and also the Clinton School of Public Service to obtain a master's degree in public service.
