Lady Rebels blast Cross County, fall to Marked Tree
Riverside blasted Cross County 17-0 Thursday afternoon at Lake City in 2A-3 conference softball action behind the strong pitching effort of Kayli Womack. Womack fired a three inning no-hitter, striking out four while allowing two walks.
Womack also went 2-2 at the plate with four runs batted in. Kaitlyn Hale laced a pair of singles and drove in three runs while Delaney George had a pair of singles and two RBI for Riverside.
Riverside fell to Marked Tree 9-2 Tuesday afternoon on the road. The Lady Indians scored four runs in the second inning and never trailed. Kelsey Pitts went 3-4 with a double and a triple while Holly Smith added a pair of RBI singles. Cameron Willoughby also had a pair of hits and an RBI for Marked Tree.
Madison Carroll went the distance to earn the victory, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out 13 Lady Rebels.
The Lady Rebels return to action Monday afternoon with a road trip to Walnut Ridge. Riverside will play Buffalo Island Central Tuesday afternoon at Monette before hosting East Poinsett County Thursday at Lake City. Riverside will close the week Friday afternoon with a road trip to Crowley's Ridge Academy in Paragould.
