Lions, Lady Lions split 3A-3 Conference games

Manila split a pair of 3A-3 conference tilts last week, defeating Corning 65-55 Tuesday night on the road before dropping a 72-64 decision at Osceola.

The Lions (11-9, 5-3 3A-3) got 21 points from Caleb Reinhart in Tuesday's victory over the Bobcats. Reinhart banged home five three pointers on the night. Matthew May and Seth Grissom chipped in 14 and 12 points respectively. Klint Harvey topped Corning with 16 points.

Manila downed the junior Bobcats 49-35.

Tevin James completed a monster night in Osceola's eight point win over the Lions, scoring 39 points while grabbing 14 rebounds to lead the Seminoles. Darius Miller and Jamie Anderson pitched in 10 points apiece.

Caleb Reinhart pumped in 29 points to lead the Lions while Thomas Davis and Matthew May added 16 and 10 points respectively.

Manila jumped to a 19-9 lead after the first quarter and held a 30-25 advantage at the half. Osceola battled back to tie things up 44-all entering the final frame.

Osceola took the junior boys contest.

The Lions will honor their seniors Tuesday night in their regular season home finale against Piggott in a 3A-3 conference matchup. Manila will travel to Rivercrest Friday night to face the Colts in their final conference game of the season.

Manila's Lady Lions defeated Osceola 39-25 Thursday night in the Lion's Den behind the 18 point performance from junior forward Lauren Woody. Manila trailed 20-17 at the half but held the Lady Seminoles to just five second half points and rallied for the victory.

In the junior high contest, Manila destroyed Osceola 44-11. Jordan Tyler topped the Lady Lions with 15 points.

League leading Corning visited Manila Monday night and drilled the Lady Lions 69-33. Becca Young poured in a game high 22 points, including six three pointers, to lead the Lady Bobcats. Natalie Price buried five treys on her way to 15 points while Shayna Casinger also scored 15. Corning drained 13 three pointers as a team on the evening.

Heather Hollis paced Manila with 13 points.

Corning also took the junior high game 39-19.

The Lady Lions return to the hard court Monday night with a road trip to Piggott, before closing out the conference season with a home game Thursday night against Rivercrest.
