Home explosion deaths reaches 4

Gary Gilley, 66, died Friday, Dec. 12, at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis. His passing followed the death of his friend, Glenn Eaton, 49, who died Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the trauma center. Both men died from injuries sustained in a home explosion that occurred Saturday, Nov. 29.

The accident happened at the Gilley Home near Monette/Lake City while the men were attempting to hook up a gas line to a propane tank for a stove.

Gilley's wife Deborah Gilley and son, Slade Gilley, 11, died in the accident.

Mr. Eaton's funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 13, at Emerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Gilley's visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Emerson Funeral Home Chapel.

The Gilley's daughter, Shelby, was injured in the accident. She was released from LeBonheur Children's Hospital on Dec. 1.

A Gilley Fund account has been set up at Iberia Bank to help the family. Iberia Bank is located at 100 Cobean Boulevard in Lake City. A donation can be made at any Iberia Bank location.
