Lady Rebels split pair of conference tilts
Riverside's Lady Rebels slipped past Earle 49-44 Monday night on the road before being tripped up 47-43 at the hands of Marked Tree Thursday night at Lake City in a pair of 2A-3 conference clashes.
Gattlin Hale and Skylar Kauke put together double-doubles in Riverside's victory over Earle. Hale scored 14 points and snared 11 rebounds while Kauke added 10 points and 11 boards. Natalie Milligan came up just shy of giving Riverside its third double-double of the evening, scoring 10 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
Riverside trailed 34-33 entering the fourth quarter before rallying to overtake the Lady Bulldogs.
Earle claimed the junior high contest 41-36 despite the 19 point performance from Riverside's Bailey Fisher.
Marked Tree's second half rally was enough to overtake Riverside Thursday night at Lake City. Trailing 24-22 at the half, the Lady Indians outscored Riverside 14-7 in the third quarter to take a 36-31 edge into the final frame.
Senior post player Lexi Perry scored 24 points and pulled down 20 rebounds while also blocking three shots to lead Marked Tree. Tullia Tull added 14 points and 12 boards in support of Perry.
Riverside (9-6, 2-3 2A-3) got 15 points apiece from Chelsea Nichols and Ashlyn Snyder.
The Lady Rebels claimed the junior high game 30-17. Riverside (11-5, 4-1 2A-3) was led by Bailey Fisher's 11 points.
Riverside returns to action Monday night hosting Ridgefield Christian in nonconference action before returning to 2A-3 conference play Thursday night with a road trip to Cross County.
