Odelene Ford

Mrs. Odelene Ford, 92, of Manila, died early Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Jan. 27, 1922, in Bald Knob to the late James and Beulah Smith, she was raised in Dyess and had been a Manila area resident for over 60 years. The widow of J.C. Ford, she was a homemaker and a longtime member of Community Methodist Church in Manila. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed wrestling, the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Wayne Ford.

She is survived by three sons, Raymond Posey of Dupo, Ill., Mark Ford and

Henry Ford, both of Manila; two daughters, Marveline Shrable and Linda Ford Hensley, both of Manila. She also leaves nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren

Funeral service was 3 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Dennis Fitzpatrick officiating. Burial followed in Manila Cemetery. Pallbearers were Devin Ford, Zack Taylor, John Ford, P.J. Ford, Alan Ford, Tony Shrable, Jason Ford and Armas Lanney.

The family received friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

The family prefers any memorials be made to Community Methodist church of Manila.
