J.R. Bunch, 81, of Piedmont, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was born May 28, 1933, to George Washington Bunch and Grace Emma Hicks Bunch, in Manila. He married Delora Grace Davison Dec. 31, 1955, in Hernando, Miss. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2006. Mr. Bunch served in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manila and VFW Florissant Valley Memorial Post 4105, and Ecild Masonic Lodge 505. He was a retired engineer from McDonald Douglass Aircraft Manufacturing.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Helzer.

Survivors include two sons, Marty Bunch and wife Allison of Grove, Okla., and Jeff Bunch and wife Caria of Valle Mines, Mo.; six grandchildren, Matthew Bunch of Grove, Okla., Katie Bunch of Grove, Okla., Angela Niedhard of St. Charles, Mo., Jaclyn Bunch of Piedmont, Mo., Jennifer Hodges of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tiffany Martin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers, Jimmy Bunch and Michael Bunch, both of Manila; three sisters, Martha Cary of Foristlel, Mo., Minnie Bourland of Vallejo, Calif., and Sherry Pratt of Manila; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the First Baptist Church in Manila with Rev. Matt Pryor officiating. Burial followed in the Manila Cemetery. The family received friends from noon until service time on Saturday at the church.
