Dick and Deb Pace greet family and friends at Mr. Pace's retirement reception.

Dick Pace was the guest of honor Friday afternoon as friends, family and co-workers, present and past, gathered to wish him well in his retirement.

Pace decided to retire after a 33-year banking career. He started his career at United Federal, only one block from Centennial Bank where he is now employed. When he first came to the bank it was MidSouth Bank. Through mergers it became Liberty Bank and now Centennial.

Pace said he has enjoyed his career and is looking forward to chasing grandchildren.

Sonny Campbell, chief lending officer of Centennial, presented Pace with a gift and well wishes from his co-workers.

"He does it like it should be done," Campbell said. His heart is in the right place. He has been a beacon for young bankers coming up. It has been an honor to work with him."

Among the guests who stopped by to wish Pace well were several of his fellow Buffaloes from the Monette Class of 1967, team members from the Childress baseball team of 1960, co-workers from Monette and Jonesboro, customers he had served through the years, former co-workers and many other friends and family.
