Booster club hosts Meet the Rebels banquet
The newly formed Riverside Athletic Booster Club held its first event of the 2014-2015 year with a Meet The Rebels Banquet held on Friday, Oct. 17, at the school cafeteria. It was a successful evening with standing room only.
President Greg Smith welcomed everyone expressing appreciation to the administration, coaches, and the players.
"I want to thank everyone for expressing their pride in being a Rebel," Smith said. "We want to provide what we can for our student athletes and coaches on the court and in the classroom."
The motto for the booster club is "Victory with Honor."
Smith introduced the administration and their wives.
Blake Robertson, vice president, introduced the coaches and their wives.
Kevin Hall, assistant boys' basketball coach, read a letter from Head Coach Buster Campbell, who was unable to attend expressed his gratitude for the Booster Club.
Other Booster club officers include Brenda Milligan, secretary; Amber Carr, treasurer; Bryan Wells, member at large; Beth Freeman, committee chairman; Kate Wells, advertising committee chairman; and Kayla Sain, fund raising committee chairman.
Kevin Hall, golf and seventh grade boys basketball; Terry Conner assisted by Scott Dunkerson, tennis; Ben Hoggard, seventh grade girls; Jeff Womack assisted by Ben Hoggard, junior and senior girls basketball and baseball; Buster Campbell, assisted by Kevin Hall, junior and senior boys basketball; Terry Conner, assisted by Mark Mann, bowling; T.J. Eakins, assisted by Daniel Eakins, softball; Ben Hoggard, tack; Tammy Davis and Lisa Black, cheerleader sponsors.
Coaches introduced team members. The golf team had an outstanding year and the tennis teams are preparing to go to state.
Several area businesses and individuals provided many prizes to be given away throughout the night.
"We appreciate everyone who came out tonight and welcome new members who want to be part of the Riverside Athletic Booster Club," Smith said.
