Steven Wayne Blake, 58, of Hardy passed away Oct. 13, 2014, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. Born Oct. 17, 1955, in Jonesboro, he was the son of the late Wayne and Madlyn Evans Blake (Cates). Mr. Blake was of the Church of Christ belief and was a faithful 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard and had a Bachelor's Degree in social work from Arkansas State University. Mr. Blake was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by one daughter, Alanna Russell, and husband Shane of Hardy; one brother, Grayson Blake, and wife Misty of Jonesboro; one sister, Cindy Wyatt, and husband Peanut of Osceola; stepfather, Junior Cates; two grandchildren, Mashaia Russell and Eutah Russell, both of Hardy. Mr. Blake also leaves seven previous stepchildren, two nieces, three nephews and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Blake; and his grandparents, Dewey and Maudie Blake and Eutah and Evie Evans.

Memorial service was 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Faith Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Pastor Chris Clem officiating.
