Susan Jackson announces candidacy for Manila City Council Ward 2 Position 2
Susan Jackson said she is pleased to announce her candidacy for the Manila City Council.
"As a former city employee, I am familiar with the overall running of a municipality and municipal laws pertaining to city government," she said. "I am also familiar with all aspects of the accounting process."
She began her working career right out of high school as Manila Water Clerk, then was appointed City Treasurer and served two terms as City Clerk. She worked at Manila City Hall for 20 years.
"I will listen carefully to our entire community to work hard to become informed and to make careful, thoughtful decisions that benefit our entire community," Jackson said. "If elected, I will use my vision, experience, training and common sense to strengthen our community."
She said she is eager to take on the challenges that face Manila in the future.
"With teamwork, I think we can make Manila a more attractive place to live and work in and to visit," she said. "Manila has a lot to offer and I will continue to promote and represent my hometown as one of the greatest places to live in Mississippi County.
"I would greatly appreciate your vote on Nov. 4."
