Riverside Athletic Booster Club formed

Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Riverside Public Schools has a new support organization. The Riverside Athletic Booster Club held its first meeting Aug. 13 and elected officers.

The club's president is Greg Smith with Blake Robertson serving as vice president. Other board members are Amber Carr, treasurer; Brenda Milligan, secretary; and Bryan Wells, member-at-large.

The Booster Club is supporting all Riverside athletics, from elementary through senior high, and includes baseball, basketball, bowling, cheer, golf, softball, track and tennis teams. Several fundraising projects have begun to take shape, including the sale of decals and yard signs.

Several membership meetings and drives will soon be held. The first meeting was held Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Riverside High School cafeteria followed by a membership drive at Fox's Pizza Den on Friday night.

This week will focus on meeting with interested patrons from Caraway. The meeting will be held at the Caraway Fire Deptartment at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, and then a membership drive at The Feed Lot on Friday night starting at 6 p.m. Anyone who is interested is urged to attend one of the meetings and join the Riverside Athletic Booster Club. Membership fees are $10 per person or $15 for a family (two adults).

For more information, contact Greg Smith at (870) 930-5048 or Blake Robertson at (870) 930-7060. The club also has a Facebook page. Search for Riverside Athletic Booster Club. All fundraising events and other news will be posted there for patrons to view.

  • If anyone with the Booster Club is looking for additional fundraising ideas, I suggest checking out BoosterShot (http://www.goboostershot.com/). They have a unique set of fundraising products that our community loves to support. Our Booster Club has been using them for awhile now. We typically raise over $7K every year. They are very hands-on and always work hard to ensure we meet our fundraising goals.
