Lisa's Beauty Shop opens on Nelson Street in Leachville
Lisa Baldridge opened a new beauty shop in her home at 503 Nelson Street, Leachville.
Lisa has 30 years of experience opening her first beauty shop in 1982, in her home in Leachville when she lived by Brown Shoe Company.
"All of my success I owe to my family," she said. "My mom and dad, Gearline and John L. Baldridge, gave gave me the money to start my first beauty shop."
In 1989 she moved to Mountain Home and opened a shop there. In 1995 she moved to Branson, Mo., and opened a shop there until she moved to Gulfport, Miss., in 2000. She stated working with Fantastic Sam's and in 2005 she purchased a Fantastic Sam's. She lost the shop to a hurricane.
In 2011 she came back home to her roots and is still happy to be in Leachville.
"I want to give a big thank you to Candie Depriest for giving me the opportunity to reopen Candie's Beauty Shop. I have been back in Leachville for 3-1/2 years, and now finally I am able to open my own shop again in my home."
Lisa's Beauty Shop officially opened Aug. 11. Family and friends gathered Friday afternoon for a ribbon cutting and reception with cake and punch. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the new shop.
Lisa's will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Saturdays are by appointment only. For an appointment call (870) 957-0107.
"This time I owe my success to my sister, Donna Austin, and my brother, Steve Baldridge," Lisa said. "They have been behind me all the way. After all, I am the baby of the family -- that never gets old."
