BIC journalism staff wins state awards

Members of the Buffalo Island Central Journalism staff were honored with numerous awards at the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association Convention in Rogers April 14-15.

Greydon Williams was named Photojournalist of the Year at the convention banquet. Also at the banquet Victoria Perez was awarded runner-up Writer of the Year and Camden Metheny received second runner-up Photojournalist of the Year.

During the mail-in awards presentations, staff members earned several honors, including two Best of ASPA awards for photography by Greydon Williams and Daniel Carmichael.

The staff produces both the Mustang Yearly yearbook and the online newspaper, Hoof Prints. It is advised by Tracey Yates, CJE.
