God's Not Dead to be presented at Westside in Manila Aug. 9

Brother Andy Andros, pastor of Westside Baptist Church, Manila.

Westside Baptist Church in Manila will host a film presentation of "God's Not Dead."

The Christian film is about faith and the limits one young man will go to in order to defend his belief in God. Josh Wheaton (Shane Harper), a freshman college student, enrolls in a philosophy class taught by an infamous and dictatorial professor.

Dr. Raddison (Kevin Sorbo) demands all his students must sign a declaration that "God is dead" in order to get a passing grade. Josh refuses, but he needs to take this class to meet his academic requirements.

The professor strikes a bargain. Josh must defend his position that "God is alive" in a series of debates with him in order to stay in the class. If he loses, he flunks. When Josh accepts the challenge, he gets more than he bargained for -- jeopardizing his faith, his relationships and even his future.

Everyone is invited to attend. The movie will be shown at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Westside Baptist Church. Child care will be provided and the cost is free.

Brother Andy Andros serves as pastor. He encourages everyone to attend the showing of this movie.

"For the Christians I think it will stimulate their faith," Brother Andros said. "For those who have wandered off, I think it will bring them back, and for others who are seeking God I think it is a great tool to help them understand what God is all about."
