Kaley Hawkins receives Childress School Scholarship

Kaley Hawkins, 2014 graduate of BIC High School.

Kaley Hawkins, a 2014 honor graduate of Buffalo Island Central High School, is the recipient of the Childress School $500 scholarship, for the year ending May 2014.

Childress School, which was north of Monette, consolidated with Monette School District in 1961, which later became Buffalo Island Central School District. However, graduates/non-graduates of the Childress School continue to honor a graduating high school senior each year with this scholarship. They must be a direct descendant of a Childress School student.

While at BIC, Kaley was very active in several organizations, part of which include FCCLA, FFA, FTA, National Honor Society, CODE, and Student Council. She was an honor student and ranked third in her class. Kaley is an active member of the Leachville First Baptist Church.

She plans to attend Arkansas State University majoring in International Business.

Parents of Kaley are Tina Wimpy and Jay Hawkins. Grandparents are Pat and Bill Hawkins of Monette and Jerry and Sue McAfee.
