Tim Wayne Bandy, 73, of Leachville, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his home. Born March 31, 1941, in Bay, to the late Albert and Audrey Bibbs Bandy, the family moved to Leachville in 1949 where Tim attended Leachville High School before joining the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he made his home for over 40 years. Tim was a retired journeyman diesel mechanic and had worked 20 years for Cummins Mid-America and 20 years for Yellow Transportation in Kansas City. Following his retirement he returned home to Leachville 10 years ago. Tim was an avid gardener and loved sharing his garden with friends and family. A truly devout Christian, Tim was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Leachville.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Shelby Rushton Bandy of the home; one daughter, Rhonda Bandy of Liberty, Mo, and her mother, Geraldine Wilkinson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, A.J. and Doris Bandy of Leachville and Rick and Brenda Bandy of Lake City. Tim also leaves four nephews, Tom McDaniel, Randy Bandy, Miles Bandy and Jeff Bandy; one niece, Jennifer Shirley; nine great-nephews, one great-niece, one great-great-nephew, and three great-great-nieces.

Funeral service was 11 a.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial followed in Leachville Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6-7:30 Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Seth Garrett, James Keith, Paul Kennett, Randy Bandy, Miles Bandy and Randy Jackson. Honorary pallbearers included Joe Hultquist, Roland Wells and Ronnie Kennett.
