Caraway to celebrate Fourth of July
It has been a very difficult year for Caraway and its residents as it has been in the process of rebuilding from the Oct. 31, 2013, tornado that damaged and destroyed most of the downtown area. As it was rebuilding, the winds came again and did more damage to buildings and trees.
Through all of that, the officials and leaders of the community will continue to honor their country and celebrate their freedom on Friday, July 4.
This will mark Caraway's 68th Fourth of July celebration.
The parade lineup will begin at 8 a.m. at the school. The patriotic parade will begin at 9 a.m. A flag raising ceremony will be held.
There will be gospel singing and drawings at the bandstand. Following the gospel singing, there will be country singing.
The traditional fireworks display will be held at dark.
"We are going to do the best we can this year," Bernard Berry said. "The Caraway Fourth of July celebration is a tradition in Caraway and we hope people will come out and enjoy the day."
