Monette Class of '64 celebrates 50th anniversry
The Monette High School class of 1964 celebrated its 50th anniversary on Memorial Day weekend with two parties in Monette.
Classmates gathered Friday, May 23, for an evening meal and fellowship at the home of Bob and Doris Blankenship, on 208 N. Reves Street.
A second gathering was held Saturday, May 24, at B&B Restaurant, on 217 W. Drew Avenue.
A special planned program began following dinner and included memorials, videos and special entertainment.
Remembrances for 10 deceased classmates were shared by fellow classmates and included Randall Chipman by Susie McAfee; Dennis Chrisco by Beverly Sennett; Sharon Brooks by Gracie Jones; Johnny Williams by Faye Emery; Junior Guiltner by Donnie Mangrum; Kathy Taylor by Joan Wilborn; Floyd Hargrove by Donna McFarlin; Troy Guiltner by Bob Blankenship; and Dickie Howell by Neala Hoch.
Linda Morris presented a MHS video depicting photos of classmates and high school functions and organizations.
A MHS Memory Book was compiled by Fern Todd, which included a short biography of each classmate.
Name tags and pictorial placemates were prepared by Joan Wilborn.
Special entertainment for the evening was provided by Jordan Miller and Kevin Stewart with David Beck on the keyboard.
The Class Reunion Planning Committee consisted of Chairman Mena Jenkins, Faye Emery, Susie McAfee, Donna McFarlin, Fern Todd, Linda Morris, Emily Watson, Bob Blankenship, Neala Hoch, Joan Wilborn, Wallece Brewer, Donna Hall and Gracie Jones.
