Tommy Gene Elinburg, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Gene Elinburg, Sr., 61, of West Ridge, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born April 15, 1953, in Yazoo City, Miss., he was the son of the late of William Thomas and Ava Pauline Ivy Elinburg and had been a longtime area resident. Mr. Elinburg was a member of the Etowah Church of God, graduate of Lepanto High School and enjoyed music and watching westerns.

He is survived by two sons, Tommy Gene Elinburg, Jr. and wife Crystal of Manila and Chris Elinburg of West Ridge; three daughters, Jolene Edwards and husband Robby of Rector; Emmy Main and fiance Jason Carmichael of Leachvill and Cassa Pate and husband Thomas of Etowah; three brothers, John Elinburg and wife Dora of Caraway, Mike Elinburg and wife Linda of Mountain View and Joe Elinburg and wife Brenda of Watson, Ark.; one sister, Wilma Kirk of Mountain View. He also leaves 16 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the Etowah Church of God with Pastor Huey Mehurg officiating. Burial followed in the Caraway Cemetery with Faith Funeral Service of Manila in charge of arrangements.

The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Pallbearers were Thomas Pate, Kenny Wilson, Robby Edwards, Ricky Elinburg, Chris Elinburg, Mark Elinburg and Jason Carmichael.
