Manila Public Library Librarian Mary Alice Ketchum invites those interested in learning more about computers, email and the internet to sign up for one of the three free classes being offered at the Library May 30 by Connect Arkansas.

Connect Arkansas will be offering three free one hour computer classes at the Manila Public Library Friday, May 30. The classes are open to the public, but those interested in participating need to sign up now as space is limited.

Computer Basics, Introduction to Email and Computer and Internet Frequently Asked Questions are classes offered as part of Connect Arkansas' community based initiatives. Connect Arkansas is a private, nonprofit corporation dedicated to increasing and improving high speed Internet use throughout Arkansas. The Connect Arkansas Broadband Act was signed into law in 2007 with the goal of improving personal lives and creating economic opportunity throughout Arkansas. During the year the organization offers free hands on classes to improve Internet knowledge throughout the state.

On May 30 at the Manila Public Library, Connect Arkansas will be presenting Computer Basics from 12-1 p.m., Introduction to Email from 1-2 p.m. and Computer and Internet FAQ from 2-3 p.m. The free, hands on, one hour long classes will cover students' questions about the Internet or computers. There is a limit of five students per hour-long class. Those interested in participating should contact the Manila Public Library at 870-561-3525.
