Henry Ford wins outstanding water works achievement award

HOT SPRINGS -- Henry Ford, water superintendent for the city of Manila, is the recipient of the Water Works Outstanding Achievement Award presented at this year's annual Arkansas Water Works & Water Environment Association (AWW&WEA) convention in Hot Springs. The award recognizes excellence in overall operation and compliance for systems serving less than 5,001 in population.

Ford oversees all departments of public works for the city. He has been in the water/wastewater field for 20 years, and has been with the city of Manila since 1998. He holds a Class 4 Water Distribution License, a Class 4 Water Treatment Operator License and a Class 3 Wastewater Operator license. In addition to his position with Manila, he serves as the operator of record for the water departments for the cities of Luxora, Dyess, Bassett, Sandridge and Joiner.

Ford has been married for 41 years. He and his wife, Marcella, have two sons and four grandchildren.
