Rebels go undefeated in Xtra Innings Classic

Larry Tilley blasted a game winning RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Riverside to a 3-2 victory over the Wynne Junior Varsity Saturday afternoon in the Xtra Innings Classic at Nettleton High School. The victory, coupled with wins Thursday and Friday, gave the Rebels a perfect 3-0 run through the tournament.

Tilley finished the day 2-3 at the plate while Brandon Towery also contributed a pair of singles. Cody Webb pitched three strong innings of shutout baseball to pick up the win. Webb fanned six Yellowjackets on the day.

The Rebels began the Classic with a 5-3 victory Thursday afternoon over Batesville Southside. Tilley and Matt Fraser both delivered RBI singles while Devon Austin singled and scored three runs. Kollin Stone worked five innings to notch the victory, allowing just one hit. Stone struck out eight hitters while issuing seven walks. Cody Webb pitched the final two innings to earn the save.

Riverside defeated Foreman 6-3 Friday afternoon. Kollin Stone had an RBI single and stole a pair of bases while Tilley added an RBI hit. Austin pitched five innings to earn the victory, striking out nine batters while issuing four walks. The junior right-hander gave up just three hits and two earned runs. Webb gained the save, with a perfect seventh inning of work.
