T.C.'s opens in Manila
T.C.'s Restaurant has opened at 805 Lake Street (the corner of Beauchamp and Lake Streets). Owners Terry and Barbara Carr operated T.C.'s in 2004 and sold the business to Jimmy White when they opened B&B in Monette. Terry and Barbara, along with their son Blake, still own and operate B&B.
T.C.'s newly renovated building is owned by Janella Caraway of Manila.
"The building is 100 years old and Mrs. Caraway has completely renovated the building," Mr. Carr said. "It has two bathrooms, new air and heat systems, a drive-through window, and has been completely refurbished. The remodeling really turned out nice."
Nunnally Construction did the renovations. The restaurant will seat 40.
Dining in or carry outs are available. The telephone number is 561-8282 (TCTC).
Hours will be Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. A large variety of breakfast choices will be offered along with buffet lunches from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Also, the menu consists of a variety of sandwiches, appetizers, soups, salads, plate lunches and sides. There is a kid's menu and homemade desserts.
Cathy Liles will be serving as manager at T.C.'s. Angel George and Pam Tyler will be working along with Mark Liles taking care of the maintenance.
A bench in front of T.C.'s has been redone in memory of Jimmy "Hard Rock" Henry.
"When we had T.C.'s before, Hard Rock made the bench for us," Mr. Carr said. "He loved coming out here. We had it just a day when we sold the business and it stayed with the new owners. Wendell Poteet refinished it and we had "In memory of Hard Rock" lettered on the bench. We are glad it is still here."
Future plans are to open two nights a week for a steak and a fish night.
"We are looking forward to serving the community," Mr. Carr said.
