Sullivan announces for House seat
Dan Sullivan announces he will challenge for the House District 53 seat in the upcoming election. "Many issues face the citizens of Arkansas, none more pressing than taking back control of our local businesses, farms and schools. Party lines do not represent people, people represent people. And I want to be that representative," Dan Sullivan said.
House District 53 includes the communities of Brookland, Lester, Monette, Caraway and Lake City.
Sullivan is the chief executive officer for Ascent Children's Health services.
In 1973, as an Arkansas State University senior, Sullivan interned with Neil Able, longtime coach for the Monette Buffaloes (now Buffalo Island Central), then moved to Caraway and coached for three years. Sullivan's wife, Maria (Stewart) Sullivan, grew up in Monette, graduated high school in 1968 and Arkansas State University in 1972. They have two grown children, Matt who resides in Rogers, and Ann from Dallas.
"My thoughts on representation are simple. Our government must be limited and our liberties secured. Our local schools must be champions of our Constitution, pursue truth and teach those who would be defenders of our liberties. I am reminded of something I learned in civics class -- every vote counts," Sullivan said.
