Jerry Wayne Ward

Jerry Wayne Ward, 73, of Arbyrd, Mo., passed from this life Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at his home. Born in Leachville to the late Odis and Ethel Edgin Ward, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and had lived most of his life in the Leachville and Arbyrd areas. He was a graduate of the S. T. I. Electronics Institute in Michigan and was a retired electrician.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Janiece Ward, and a great-granddaughter, Haven Cook.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kaye Dixon Ward of the home; a son, Jason Ward of Arbyrd; a daughter, Tamra Ward Maxwell of Arbyrd; three brothers, Earl Ward of Arbyrd, Morris Ward of Paragould, and Jim Ward of Arbyrd; a sister, Karen Chipman of Arbyrd. He also leaves four grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Mark Luther officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.
