Buffalo Island Central School Board held a special meeting Thursday, Jan. 30, to discuss public feedback from the community on construction options.

The council unanimously agreed to pursue plans for the construction of a preK-12 building or buildings for the district. The district will begin making contacts with landowners on Highway 18 for the best possible location.

The board reviewed requests for qualifications from construction managers and voted to interview Tate Construction; Nabholtz Construction; Ramson Construction; and CNI Construction at the Feb. 10 board meeting which begins at 5:30 p.m.

The board voted to increase substitute bus driver pay to $20 per route or $40 a day beginning Feb. 3.

The board accepted the resignation of Cynthia Delee as bus driver as of Jan. 15. Matthew Sills was hired as a replacement beginning Jan. 16.
