Tuesday, January 21, 2014

The Craighead County Retired Teachers Association will award in April an academic scholarship to a graduating senior, who plans to major in education, from a public high school in Craighead County.

The scholarship is a one-time award to the student that meets scholarship requirements.

Requirements include a grade point average of 2.0 or higher, a financial need, leadership qualities, and evidence of community service and extracurricular activity participation.

Two letters of recommendation from a school counselor or resident of the community are required.

For more information or an application, students may contact their high school counselor or scholarship chairman Bettye Gibson, Craighead Country Retired Teachers Association, P.O. Box 33, Jonesboro, AR 72403.

The deadline for applications is March 1.
