Lady Rebels Basketball Rewind

Riverside rolled past East Poinsett County 64-45 before losing at Marmaduke 74-55 in a pair of 2A-3 conference tilts last week. The Lady Rebels also traveled to Swifton for the Kell Classic, defeating Bay 56-42 in the quarterfinals before dropping a 55-39 decision to Corning in a semifinal matchup.

Kenzley Wilson pumped in 18 points while Catlyn Sailor added 13 more in Riverside's win at EPC Monday night. Riverside led 17-8 after the opening quarter and stretched their lead to 39-16 at the half. The Lady Rebels took a commanding 54-32 lead into the final frame.

Riverside got nine points apiece from Chelsea Nichols and Skylar Kauke while Gattlin Hale, Katlyn Hale and Megan Davidson added three points apiece. Ashlyn Snyder and Madison Black pitched in two points each. The Lady Rebels hit eight of 11 foul shots and drained 10 three pointers.

Alyson Phillips led the Lady Warriors with 14 points while Synteria Ward pitched in 10 points.

Wilson scored 15 points while Nichols added 12 in Riverside's 19 point loss at Marmaduke Thursday night. The Lady Greyhounds took a 23-17 lead after the first break and held a slim 39-36 edge at the half. Marmaduke led 55-49 after three quarters before outscoring Riverside 19-6 to pull away in the fourth period.

Catlyn Sailor added eight points for Riverside while Anna Brickell and Skylar Kauke pitched in six points apiece. Jordan Miller tallied four while Gattlin Hale and Megan Davidson contributed two points each. Riverside hit 10-20 free throws and drained seven treys.

Shelby Blackburn led the Lady Greyhounds with 15 points. Alex Richey scored 14 while Allison Hampton added 13. Marmaduke hit 19-26 foul shots and drilled five three pointers.

Riverside downed Bay 56-42 in the quarterfinals of the Kell Classic Friday night at Swifton. Kenzley Wilson led the Lady Rebels with 21 points while Chelsea Nichols buried five three pointers on her way to a 15 point performance.

Brittany Roedel led the Lady Yellowjackets with 20 points while Katie Ferguson added 10.

Riverside fell to Corning 55-39 in the semifinals on Saturday. Landon Brownfiel led the Lady Bobcats with 15 points while Shayna Cassinger added 10.

Anna Brickell led the Lady Rebels with 16 points while Kenzley Wilson added 12.

In junior high action, Riverside squeezed past EPC 35-31 Monday night at Lepanto. Bailey Fisher led the Lady Rebels with 13 points while Haven Robertson added 11. Carson Smith scored four, Brittney Sain tallied three while Hattie Milligan and Britany Kelems pitched in two points apiece. Becca Bishop led the Lady Warriors with 10 points.

EPC led 11-9 after the first quarter and 17-15 at the half. Riverside rallied to take a 23-22 edge into the final frame.

Riverside lost to Marmaduke 47-33 Thursday night on the road. Shandon York pumped in a game high 24 points to lead the Lady Greyhounds.

A pair of seventh graders, Carson Smith and Bailey Fisher, led the Lady Rebels with 11 and 10 points respectively. Haven Robertson scored seven while Britney Sain added five.

Riverside returns to action Monday night when they face Buffalo Island Central at Lake City. The Lady Rebels take on Augusta Wednesday night in another conference matchup before facing Black Rock in a nonconference tilt Thursday night at Lake City.
