CenturyLink gives to Caraway

Skip Layne, CenturyLink Area Operations Manager-North/East Arkansas and Mississippi presented a check to Mayor Barry Riley to be used however the city needs for storm recovery for the citizens of Caraway.

Caraway buildings on main street and several homes suffered extensive damage in the Oct. 31 tornado.

Mayor Riley expressed his appreciation to CenturyLink. The money will be used to sponsor the Lions Club on their Christmas basket project to be distributed to citizens of the area. "We appreciate the donation from CenturyLink," Riley said.

Mayor Riley said the clean-up efforts are still underway. Several of the damaged buildings have been torn down and there are still four or five on main street to be demolished.

The city government is working to revitalize main street.
