Lady Mustangs romp past CRA in NEA opener

Buffalo Island Central's Lady Mustangs wasted little time in disposing their first round Northeast Arkansas Invitational Tournament opponent, galloping to an easy 55-19 romp over Crowley's Ridge Academy Monday afternoon at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro.

Hannah Poe buried back to back three pointers to begin the game as the Lady Mustangs raced to a 12-0 lead. BIC closed the quarter ahead 17-4, aided by Megan Webster's seven points. BIC outscored the Lady Falcons 11-1 in the second period to take a 28-5 lead at the half. Madison Greathouse had five of the Lady Mustangs' second quarter points.

Bailey Owens ripped a pair of three pointers to help BIC stretch their lead to 41-17 at the end of three quarters of play. BIC won the fourth quarter 14-2 to claim the lopsided victory.

Owens topped the Lady Mustangs with 13 points while Greathouse added 10 more. Webster scored nine while Poe, Karo Thomas and Natalie Campbell all added six points apiece. Kelsey Strickland tallied three while Caslyn Walls chipped in two points.
