Manila Veterans Day program Monday

The City of Manila and the Manila Middle School will honor Manila veterans with a program at the Herman Davis Monument State Park at 11 a.m. Monday, November 11. Manila Middle School students will welcome the veterans by waving flags as they arrive.

Ray Dill will serve as master of ceremonies. Featured speaker will be Sen. David Burnett. The colors will be presented by the Manila Cub Scout Troop 32. Mike and Jessica Warrenfells are Cub Scout leaders and will assist the Scouts.

Brandon Bryant and daughters, Charlsie and Lindsay, will sing the National Anthem. J.D. Forsythe, World War II veteran, will read the names of Manila veterans who passed away in 2013. The reading will be followed by a moment of silence.

Members of the Manila Business Women will serve sandwiches and cookies at the Depot following the ceremony. All area veterans, their families, and interested citizens are encouraged to attend this event to honor those men and women who served in the United States military.
