Sr. Mustangs stay unbeaten -- Jr. Boys claim Marmaduke Invitational Title

Buffalo Island Central improved to 4-0 on the season, drilling Armorel 71-48 Friday night at Leachville. Austin Pike poured in a game high 21 points while Alan Carmichael chipped in 17 more to lead the Mustangs.

Nash Winters scored 20 points to lead the Tigers while Lane Finley added 12.

The junior Mustangs celebrated Homecoming, squeezing out a 53-50 victory over the Tigers behind Trey DePriest's 21 point output. Andrew McFarlin scored 17 points while Dax Hurst added 12.

BIC also claimed the Marmaduke Invitational Junior High Tournament with a 50-27 win over Bay Saturday night in Marmaduke.

Dax Hurst led the Mustangs with 14 points while Andrew McFarlin chipped in 10.

The Mustangs reached the finals by defeating Marmaduke 47-16 and Armorel 47-42 earlier in the week. McFarlin led the Mustangs with 12 points in BIC's win over the Greyhounds. DePriest scored nine, Cory Turner had eight, Hurst tallied six, Jared Shirley netted five, Logan Harrison chipped in three, Jace Couch had two while Abraham Lopez and Dustin Johnson added one point apiece. Cody Ails led the Greyhounds with nine points.

DePriest pumped in 20 points in BIC's win over Armorel. Turner scored 13 while Hurst chipped in 11. McFarlin added three points.

BIC will return to the hard court Tuesday night when they travel to Bay to face the Yellowjackets.
