Tuesday, October 8, 2013

Monette Manor is sponsoring a fund-raising benefit for the Down Syndrome Organization.

Beginning Oct. 7, the staff invites everyone to show their support of the organization and their poster child, Cannon Ellis, by walking around the Monette Manor courtyard track.

Five laps will qualify participants to enter a drawing for a basket to be given away at 3 p.m. Oct. 18.

Robertson Brothers Furniture in Leachville has donated a La-Z-Boy rocking recliner to be raffled off. Tickets are $1 each. Tee shirts will be ordered for $15. Orders must be turned in by Oct. 9.

All proceeds from shirts, raffles and donations will go to the Down Syndrome Foundation.

Winners will be announced Oct. 18 and do not have to be present to win.

Monette Manor will host an all day event starting at 11 a.m. Oct. 18 with introductions and entertainment.

There will be a lunch break at noon and a balloon release and walk-a-thon at 1:30 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided by Cannon Ellis at 2 p.m. A reception and drawings will be held at 3 p.m.

For more information contact Wendy Carpenter, activity director, at (870) 486-5419.

"We appreciate any and all support and participation in the event," Carpenter said.
