Matt and Jamie Davis are the proud owners of a new restaurant, 1812 Pizza Company, in Manila. The young couple has a combined 25 years of experience in the food industry and owning their own restaurant is something they have wanted to do for a long time.

They chose to use 1812 in the name giving the new business a historical theme. It was 1811-1812 the New Madrid Earthquake took place.

The new business is located at 623 B West State Highway 18, between the nail spa and Sassy Sunflower Florist. Dine-in or carry-outs are available. The telephone number is (870) 570-0202.

In addition to the variety of the traditional pizzas, also offered will be dessert pizza, chicken wings, toasted ravioli, salads, baked potatoes and more. Pizza by the slice will be available during lunch. They make their own pizza dough.

Hours for the new business are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

"We have a great crew and we have been working hard training to prepare for our opening," Jamie said. "We are looking forward to serving the community and the surrounding area."

The business officially opened Monday, Oct. 7.

1812 Pizza Company will also be available for parties. Persons can call for more information.
