Dr. Thomas Gregory McKelvey captures the beauty of Big Lake and Mallard Lake in his photographs.

A benefit "See the Eagles of Big Lake/Mallard Lake" photography exhibition will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at 717 North Boston Street (one block west of Farmers Market) in Manila.

The works of Dr. Thomas Gregory McKelvey of Mobile, Ala., will be on exhibit.

All proceeds will benefit the Garry Bunch Family. Garry has had surgery and is undergoing cancer treatments.

There will be no charge to visit the exhibition, however, donations will be accepted and the photography will be available to purchase with all proceeds going to the family.

The exhibition will be held at the shop of Bunch's sister, Sherry Bunch Pratt. She said Dr. McKelvey will be on hand at the show and is looking forward to meeting the people of the area.

"He is married to our niece and loves to visit, duck hunt and take pictures at Big Lake and Mallard," Ms. Pratt said. "His work is very good and the framed prints really make us aware of the beauty right here we take for granted.

"We will have special homemade items to sell including pumpkin butter, apple butter and salted caramel sauce."

Ms. Pratt retired and moved back to her Manila home two years ago. She did not know what she had planned for the building she purchased on North Boston Street, but she is happy to have one of her first events as a fundraiser for her brother.
