Southworth Products continues to grow steadily resulting in opportunities for employment.

Southworth has been part of Manila and the surrounding area for over 30 years.

The company provides products in the growing material handling segment of the economy. Due to a pursuit of continuous improvement, Southworth enjoys success above much of the market it is in. A recent acquisition also added a new product line to the fold -- the Lift'n buddy (see photo). All-together, these factors result in a need for additional skilled employees. During the current year there has been a need for welders, inventory handlers, engineers, supervisors and managers.

A new product line for Southworth is the Lift'nbuddy

In support of future growth, Southworth has purchased the former carwash building located next the the Highway 77 Southworth facility. Some renovations to support welding and shipping operations will be done.

According to Shelly Barley, human resource manager, Southworth is currently seeking several welders. There are some entrance exams to clear, mostly testing critical thinking skills, problem solving, basic math, and blue print skills. For the most part, Southworth is looking for people who want to work and have the basic skills needed. From there, they provide the training needed to make the employee successful over the long haul.

For more information, persons can apply in person at 715 S. State Highway 77 in Manila. Applications are taken between the hours of 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
