Wilma Hooks crowned District Queen

Lakeside resident Wilma Hooks was crowned District 4 Queen and will represent the District at the state pageant.

Wilma Hooks, 81, will represent Lakeside Nursing Center and District 4 in the State Beauty Pageant on Oct. 23 in Little Rock.

Mrs. Hooks was crowned Miss Lakeside Nursing Center and went on to the District pageant in Paragould on Aug. 8, where she took top honors.

She was crowned District 4 Queen and received a crown, flowers and a trophy.

She was accompanied to Paragould by Billy Jo Sutterfield, activity director at Lakeside, and her niece, Pam Grooms. Both plan to go with her when she competes at the state pageant.

Mrs. Hooks has been a resident at Lakeside since 2009. She is looking forward to the state pageant.

She was a homemaker and has two sons. One son is deceased and her other son, Dallas, and his wife live in Paragould.
