Anita Henry Cole announces for Manila School Board
Anita Henry Cole is running for Position 4 of the Manila School Board.
"I am a Christian and an active member at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church," Mrs. Cole said. "I serve as a Sunday school class teacher, VBS director, and the church clerk and secretary."
Cole is a MHS 1987 honor graduate. She attended Arkansas State University and Arkansas Northeastern College. She is married to Kenneth Cole, MHS 1984 honor graduate and engineering manager at Tenaris, Hickman. She is the mother of two sons, Ryan, 14, and Connor, 11.
"Ryan is a great student and enjoyed baseball and playing football for the last four years," Cole said. "He recently received his black belt in taekwondo. Connor makes terrific grades and loves playing basketball and soccer. He is also involved in robotics and GT.
"I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom during our boys' school years. I began to volunteer at Manila Schools in 2004 when Ryan entered kindergarten. I have tutored children in math, reading and spelling. Working with Mrs. Helms, I have actively sought and found a program to educate the teachers and students as to the impact of bullying. I have worked to start a MMS school store. The profits have been used for activities to encourage responsibility and positive behavior. I have successfully worked to increase the profit of the school's largest community based fundraiser, the Fall Festival.
"I have been involved at the school and I see issues that need to be addressed. With your support, I can work to make positive changes for a better school."
