Christopher Lin Bell, 24, of Portsmouth, Vir., formerly of Manila, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at the Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Born April 13, 1989, at Yokosuka, Japan, he was the son of the late Bobby Lynn Bell and was a former resident of Washington state prior to making his home in Manila in 1996. Chris was a 2007 graduate of Rivercrest High School and joined the U.S. Coast Guard following graduation. He was currently stationed at Portsmouth, Vir., serving aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Northland (WMEC904).

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Diane Zahm.

He is survived by his mother, Paula Bell, his brother, Nathan Bell, and his sister, Hailey Bell, all of Manila. He also leaves his paternal grandparents, Bob Bell of Monette, Pat Bollinger Jolliff and her husband Garry of Manila.

Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blytheville with Father Felix Chirapurathel officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.

The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 2, at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rosary to begin at 6 p.m. and visitation from 6:30-8 pm.
