Kolby Gyngard

Kolby Dan Gyngard, 13, of Caraway, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at St Bernards Medical Center.

Kolby was born April 12, 2000, in Jonesboro. He was a student at Manila Junior High School and was an avid baseball and basketball player. Kolby traveled with the Arkansas Venom, AAU ball team and Arkansas Thunder team. He enjoyed dirt bikes as well as hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Milligan Ridge Baptist Church.

Kolby is survived by his mother and step-father, Tammy and Kevin Frye of Lake City; his father, Kerry Gyngard of Caraway; a brother, Brent Gyngard of Lake City; grandparents, Robert and Geraldine Lawrence of Manitou, Ky., Jerry Gyngard of Caraway and Linda and Alvin Reams of Milligan Ridge; great-grandparents, Laverne Wallace of Caraway and Opal Odom of Jonesboro; uncles and aunts, Timmy and Melanie Gyngard of Caraway, Jeremy and Priscilla Talley of Jonesboro; four cousins, Hannah Gyngard, Brayden Gyngard, Alexis Talley and Chance Talley.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Herman (Pirk) Wallace.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the First Baptist Church in Manila with Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Caraway.

Visitation will be from from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the church.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brian Barnes, Paul Mata, Darrell Constant, Scott Gifford, Lee Wimberly and John Deaton. Honorary pallbearers are Manila Basketball Team, Arkansas Thunder Basketball Team and Arkansas Venom Team.
