Macie Lee Murray, 95, of Manila, widow of James Samuel Murray, Jr., died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Waterford, Miss., she was the daughter of the late James Hollis and Mary Carrie Newsom Johnson and had lived most of her life in the Manila area. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Hubert Johnson, Cecil Johnson and William H. Johnson; and six sisters, Faye House, Ruby Story, Osie Whaley, Mildred McCann, Lucille Murray, and Lois Smith.

Survivors include four sons, James Lee Murray of Bartlett, Tenn., Jacky Murray of Jonesboro, Benny Murray of Lost Cane and David Murray of Manila; four daughters, Betty Richardson of Manila, Barbara Riggs of Dover, Tenn., Mary Williams of Shady Grove and Jo Ann Bishop of Brighton, Tenn.; two sisters, Doris Lorren of Jonesboro and Eula Underwood of Bullard, Texas. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive visitors Monday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
